After a delayed start by a few days the Jetstar flight departed on time at 2.30am from Darwin and arrived in Adelaide on time at 6.30am. Weight of bike box and backpack was 31kilos just over the 30kilos I had paid for. Some items changed from previously were my sleeping bag, and one bike top, undies but more electronic stuff though this stuff was in my back pack I would take on board plus my laptop and bag. My take on was 7 kilos plus laptop. All smooth through security and plenty of time at airport as I checked in 2 hous before hand.
I was picked up by my brother and his wife and we went straight away to Flinders Rangers, stopping at Clare Woolworths for a food shop and then across the road to get gas butane. Thry only had the large but that should do me for the whole trip. I like the small one as it fits in the pot but then only last around 5 days and 'I would then need to search in outback places for gas.
We arrived in Blinman around 2.30pm and it took me about an hour to set the bike upa= and I arranged to meet up again at the Great Wall of China (not the actual one that's in China). There I had to get some screws for the crank set as I tried to take them off in Darwin as I was having so much trouble getting one pedal off. At the Great Wall of China I set off the drone but had issues with it as it did not recognise me as the owner and would only go up about 30 m and out around 30m. Anyway I managed to get some close in footage (cant remember how) then took off again to meet up at the Bulls Gap track turnoff as it was getting late and too late for a later pick up many kilometres further as the car though a 4wd would not be able to access me.
Off to stay at Wilpena Pound campground for 1 night only. We had a great dinner, they have good kitchen facilities that we didnt need to use, but we had an early night as I was up from 12.30am and they were probably up from 5am. No campfire required.
