Day 15 Simpson's Gap to Wallaby Gap  10.3km 4.3 degrees-20.2 degrees celcius, Difficulty Medium. 190m up 150m down

6.00am wake up as the 4 ladies decided again to come to the shelter with their head torches on to make breakfast.

I try soaking the rice porridge for some time but still tasted like hard raw rice. At 8.00am I departed to the Gap to check it out. I have the Gap all to myself before some locals come to visit.

A very cold morning wearing long sleeve thermal, gloves, beanie and long sleeve shirt under a clear blue sky.

As i just leave the Gap and head towards Wallaby Gap I hear the firs to fthe tour buses arriving at Simpsons Gap. From here I have 3G reception on the phone and get a few text messages but cant open websites like BOM.

No-one from last nights campsite were coming my way. The two that were had left around 5pm by taxi back to Alice Springs.

Its a pretty easy walk and before Hat Hill Saddle I come across a tour group of about 12 people.

I arrive at Wallaby Gap early at 11.23am and see a lady there under the shelter who looks like she is waiting for a tour group to arrive to feed them lunch. I claim a great site with my rucksack and have lunch on one of the tables. I am joine dby the Willy Wagtail that seems to greet everyone arriving. It hops onto your gear and even your shoes. It doesnt seem to be looking for food more just curious. After lunch I head off to Wallaby Gap water hole twice to check it out and take some photos and video. Luckily I come across a Goanna and finches but its not that pretty and the water is covered by weeds, and very little shade.

Most of the afternoon is relaxing and chatting to the other campers coming in under the shelter and watching the 3 tour groups come and go to their bus.

Its amazing what some of the trekkers were bringing with them and how big their packs look. A cofee maker, camping chairs, big ass camera. Me a heavy drone. I know by walking the whole trail that people realise along the way what they arent using and get rid of them.

One thing I learnt was when purchasing a Peak Designs camera clip make sure it comes with the base for the camera and secondly you will need a allen key to put it on a tripod as the base covers over the hole where you put it on the tripod so it needs to be removed before use.
