Day 23 Point Turton to

A bit of rain last night and I left my shoes out so a little wet they did.

Breakfast of baked beans and Mango in syrup from the shop. Breakfast in the kitchen.

Pub close don a Tuesday. Lamb Roagan Josh for dinner last night, not sure it was GF as I had the runs a bit this morning. More toilet paper required for the road.

7.30am departure along the coast towards Hardwick Bay. When a dark clioud comes and I get my rain gear on and wait under a beach /park shelter jjust in time, plus put on the pack cover. It soon stops as the clouds are wizzing by with the wind.

I hit the beach section, which cars can also drive on and it goes all the way to Hardwick Bay, its shallw and when the sun is out its terrific and I manage to get the drone up in time befor ea next lot of showers goes by.

put  boats in and out of the water as the sand is too soft for 4wd.s.  While no one is fishing today must be a summertime thing but you can see them parked in the shacks carports or on the lawns or driveways. I pick up ssome water , toilet stop and off again aiming to get to Port Minlacowie and the next shelter and water stop.

up to the shop near the main road but it is closed for renovations so its along a dirt road (Moores Road, a little left on Bayview Road for a morning tea break) with houses that eventually joins up with the trail as an alternative to the beach.

Unfortunately the beach section is heavily seaweeded, high tide and not suitable for walking so some more time on the dirt road that runs along the coast. Its along here I lose my tripod iphone holder as later I on I restep my beach section near my campspot.

I go past the campground and have lunch behind a lrge metal/concrete water tank long abandend and continue to the shelter for some water. No water and no sheltered camping spot so I decide to go back the water tank campground for a spot behind trees but no luck and then think of the copncrete shelter that at least has a roof and room for one. So a little fixing of the roof so the rain did not come in as much and a sweep of the floor to put the tent down as an underlay then the matress on top.

Dinner is out in the sheltered area by the front door away from the wind as Im using the gas stove to cook dinner. Not one car goes by.

The weather is bad around 14 degres max now and feels cold in the sheltered bunker so everything goes on me tonight.
