Day 3 KIWT 16km

Yesterday had issues with the GoPro so changed the SIM card today.

No condensation of the tent this morning. Hard getting out of the tent with the flaps closed, sometimes I dive under but the grass is wet. Didnt have to wear the beanie just 4 layers.

Got up at 6.30am this morning, shower and walking clothes on. Saw a guy running around, I am assuming his training for the marathon coming up.

Crackers and cheese for afternoon today. Spicy sausages for dinner tonight. Bought some mixed nuts for the trail.

I bit of washing to do today.

Cyclist lady left for Vivonne Bay today.

Starting at the Cape but near Weirs Cove was a good start to look down to the gully and jetty at the bottom where they used to land a craft and haul up on a wire the equipment for the lighthouse keeper. Rough seas today so Im sure they faced that issue too back then.

This is the Sanderson hike trail. Off parallel to the main road takes across the road to the Remarkables(could be a short cut) but no we tramp through the bush to a mound overlooking a swampy area, no water before heading off to the Remarkable Rocks direction.

From a distanc eI see them and yeh they are a granite outcrop amongst limestone cliffs with some exposed rocks on top that havent weathered away.

Just as I arrive first a bus load of kids from the caravan park arriver and are everywhere around plus car loads of tourists. Its hard to get a good shot in between the visitors but I get a few.

Then its off along the cliff edge to Sanderson Bay and as Im out front I have time to hit the Sanderson beach which is quite good. Back in again and a short walk to the road where we all wait for the bus that arrives on time about 200m short of us so we have to walk to it. Just before the road the trail goes dead as it continues for the next trail so some short cut across the bushes is required some make it quite difficult than it really was. We can see Banksia campsite being renovated as we drive past at the pick up.

Thereafter the resort I saw a Kangaroo but that was about it. I was expecting to see snakes as I was first but no nothing.

2.30pm pick up today.

Apart form the rocks and Sanderson beach, pretty average walk, some good spots on the cliffs but when your back from it its pretty average. The good spots you can get to by car.

People are hearing the koalas going off at night in the caravan park as they move and are more active at night.
