Day 6 Pine Point caravan park to Port Julia campground

Last night around 4am I woke up to the sound of the tent flapping in the wind so I moved under the shelter with my mattress sleeping bag and pillow and had a couple more hours sleep getting out of bed at 6am.

On goes the TV for news and 2 cups of tea as well as bake beans for breaky.

Its a walk alongside the main road before they split up and head towards Black Point along the coastal cliffs. Black Point has some rich houses not shacks that i know off in the past.

Then its along the Black Point walking trail before turning onto the beach at the last houses just being built. I can see some Plovers and the large sea gulls and the beach seems firm enough. Its the first beach walk and its nice to be on the beach. No traffic and no houses or farmland.

A bit of rocks to go around and some stairs up to Port Julia appears to be the obvious choice as I dont see any signs until I get to the top of the stairs then its a coast walk through some thick shrubs before coming out to some grass and signage in the middl eof town. Down/up the main road out of town and on the right is the oval and reacreation area which doubles as the campground with a camp host. I get a good spot sheltered and close to the kitchen which I automatically take over with all my gear and hav elunch dinner and breaky the next day.

I have arrived early so in mid afternoon I go for a walk north of town and to the main jetty sand red shed then back to the campground then at sunset go for a walk south to the beach cliffs. Not many people around in town and only a few camping in the camground so all is quiet. It does get a little chilly at night so i head back to the tent for some sleep.
