Donnybrook to Jarrahwood (Nala Mia) 45km ish
Woke up at 5.00am at the campground and heade off at 6.40am without having had breakfast, mainly because I wasnt hungry, as I had eaten so much the previous night and wanted to test out if I could.
It was a 4km deviation into Donnybrook so back again but its worth it having a food store.
Once again a cool morning as I set off past some open grassed fields with kangaroos trying to escape through the fence after munching on grass overnight. Some hit straight at it while smarter ones go underneath.
Some single tracks but mostly 4wd tracks today and one bituman ride with the only car going my way when I was filming.
Left turn off the bituman and a loong dirt road that has some tracks off to the side in which I take the left befor eth ebig hill and it goes past an orchard.
On the trail had a meuslie bar for breakfast.
At the swimming sport , dam or waterhole it is not one bit interesting to go in for a swim at this time of the year even though it was hot as it looked shiite., all dried up. Good spot for morning tea though knowing exactly where I was on the trail.
Off along the track to the first forest of Pinus radiata which was a pleasant change.
Out of the forest on forestry roads it was the same same so as I got closer to the hut I kept checking my map and app to see how much longer to go, nearly every kilometre.
You appear out of the forest into sleepy town of Jarrahwood, a collection of about 5 houses and the hut in the middle of a dry field of grass by 10.45am. I decide to determine whether I go on after I have lunch at the hut. If I go on I'll be paying for a campsite and also I'm on track for days so don't need to rush. Here I'll have to myself likely and in a camp ground who knows what it will be like.
There was a Fig tree which the birds were loving to eat the ripe fruit and a magnicent Salmon type gum next to the hut. After lunch I decide to stay. I visit the open museum and the photos they have, some are a little faded but there is also a flushing toilet nearby.
I went for another walk this time all around town, read every word at the open museum, went to the flushing toilets a few times and followed up and down along the train line running through town, or should I say before it was pulled up. At sunset I watched the kangaroos come in for a feed before heading into bed.
