Walpole to Booner Mundak Hut
After a noisy going to sleep, as a nearby cabin had 4 people wining and dinning until 9.00pm, I didn't sleep well plus an early wake up today as I was up and about before sunrise and off to the kitchen for breakfast. Someone in their campervan had to go to the toilet next door and of course opens and closes their door, not quietly of course.
Onto the bituman road to the jetty then across the main highway where a MTB trail into the forest started which meant for me some hiker bike. Then some up and down hills following the Frankland River, a great river to follow and a great place to kayak up too. I reckon you could get to Monastry Landing . Then some beautiful forest roads before getting to the Valley of the Giants tourist site.
Had 2 cups of hot chocolate at the Valley of the Giants van and a free half hour tour. A ranger takes you along the Bibbulman and shows you the different trees. Facts Jarrah is mostly in the valleys, Karri has two types, one is more sort after than the other. Arrived at the hut about 1.30.
I saw 3 guys arrive as I was leaving the Valley of the Giants and thought they were going my way and sure enough they rocked uup about an hour later.
2 Parks and Wildlife cars went by on the Middle Road.
One was a noisy snorer who offered ear plugs but I didnt take him up on it but should have. Even though we went to bed a tthe same time he snored befor eI could get to sleep so a little longer than usual to sleep then at 3.00am after a toilet stop I couldnt get back to sleep so put on some Frankenstein book on audible for half an hour.
The other thing was one person had a noisy mattress as well, probably the same as mine but it was the first time I've heard someone else's. It sounded like rain on the roof. He ended up in the night moving to the outside table to sleep because of the snoring.
