Munda Biddi Day 4 Dandalup Hut to Dwellingup caravan park.
Woke up at 5.30 then dozed off for 10 minutes or so and I left the hut at 7.00am after some morning drone action.
The trail followed the ridge where you could see the flat plain of Perth and the towns south of Perth.
At the hut was signage of a trail diversion along Whittakers Road then right along 4wd Torrens Road before rejoining the trail again.
I really enjoyed this section as I no longer need to watch for every rock, tree root , sign but look up and enjoy the view. I said to people there could have been a million Koalas in the trees but I wouldnt have seen any because my eyes were on the trail ahead of my front wheel.
I stopped along Torrens Road for morning te to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Once back on trail I hit the bitumen I could hear a noise through the forests , a constant buzzing sound. I had decided to bypass the deviation to the right, I couldnt understand why they did it and continued further on Kesners Road before I would turn right and rejoin the trail. This is when I came across the conveyor belt with the red dirt or sand.
Once I turnedoff the main road and followed a track I turned right instead of left when 2 kilometres further I realised the sound of the belt was getting louder not quieter. I was following the trail markers but I was heading north not south. I call it a long short cut because that's exactly what it turned out to be. Back a couple of kilometres then turned along the power lines to the right trail direction.
This deflated me and it was also getting hot, sore arse and it felt the progression was slow.
Once I came aross Marrinup I was hoping for a quick arrival at Dwellingup but it seemed to go on for ages along a MTB single track adjoining farms and houses.
I arrived at the Dwellingup Adventure centre at 11.30am and asked about getting my brakes fixed. The shop attendant had to ring her boss to come down to help as it normally is just a do it yourself station. While I waited I got lunch -toasted sandwhich GF and a can of coke and the boss came at 12.30pm , helped out with new brake pads that had been on the shelf for awhile and also cleaned out the crank arm. I got another set of brake pads for just in case and had afternoon tea GF before closing at 3.00pm. She showed me how to change them as well. There was alot of junk where the shimmy was and this was thought the reason why it couldn't be tightened.
we looked at it and it wasn't shredded so felt comfy about it.
The train departs nearby but not today, only on weekends and public holidays. There's showers, toilets and water and a repair station catering for the MTB riders.
I saw a few MTB riders but as I realised they were not staying at the caravan park. I was the only tenter and had the kitchen all to myself. I had just spent 3 nights basically alone, you have to like your own company don't you.
I recharged everything in the kitchen and recharged the battery overninght on the light pole box nearby.
I had stopped off at the shop in town and brought back some for dinner and checked out the opening time in the morning as well as what I could buy that was GF until I got to Collie's Coles.
With internet service I was able to check the news and weather and it was going to cool down a little from 30 degrees to 26 degrees the following days.
