Dwellingup to Lake Brockman

Woke up at 5.45am to the sound of Kookaburras

After charging the battery overnight at the power pole/light and every other electronic device in the kitchen I packed up the tent for the first time and had breakfast in the camp kitchen.

Headed to the supermarket and topped up with some more food before departing the town, missing the right road but it joined up with where i was. Shop had GF lunch but not GF breaky or dinners. Had a post office and the bike shop had dehydrated food.

Saw my first emu and now can associate the metal statue I photographed in Dwellingup the day before. Before reaching Baden powell my crank came off again. too far to go back so just tightened up again and hoped it wouldnt come off again.

Over the Murray River, WA one, where they go canoeing but as it was Autumn the river was low and no canoeing. Pass some School camp sites. Decided to take the Murray River road to the bituman instead of doing the MTB track. Great view of the river on the left. One car went pass only and got the drone up and worked out how to get it to follow me from in front.

Followed the bituman , the track joine dup and turned left along a rail trail after having morning tea at the corner campsite a t10.00am near Nanga mill campground. Easy flat trail all the way, one rocky section then  to Bidjar Ngoulin hut for lunch break and water resupply at 11.30am. Relooked at the bike, the front wheel wasnt spinnig easily but didnt fix it. Then it was back on the King Jarrah Form.

Pass a bauxite mine, dirt roads, gates that you could go around and not have to open and close.

You pass a distance from the Mt William Tower on the hill but it gave you an idea where you were also.

Saw my first fellow Munda Biddi cycling on a gravel bike going north at 3.00pm. He had done GB great Divide and had an Apidura frame bag but had straps to make it narrow and a solar battery  x 2 but one got wet and wasn't working. Long chat, he was off to the hut. He started with a friend who crashed early on with a tree and got concussion but luckily they got him to a nearby house who called for an ambulance and off to hospital.

I had a break at the north end of the lake then 3.45pm got into the Lake Brockman Tourist Park reception. Had a drink and baked beans and crisps/chips as the kitchen was closed at 3.00pm. Off to the allocated unpowered campsite to set up. Had a swim to cool off clothes and all, they got a wash too then changed into night attire. Toilets, water that needs filtering and great view of the lake. She gave me the pin number if I wanted a shower in the resort campsites but didn't bother and too far away. A swim was fine. There were people skiing and zooming around the lake who camp at the free north end till sunset then absolutely quiet time. I had a table at the campsite too.

Had mobile reception.
