Lake Brockman to Yarri Hut

Woke up early again to a cooler morning than usual. I get onto youtube to fix my front brakes that have been rubbing against the disc rotor to slow me down. Same thing the mechanic at Dwellingup showed me as well.

I head after baked beans for breaky onto the gravel road rather than head back a 1km or so to the start of the trail as the trail runs parallel to the gravel road and rejoins up the road.

Less roacky and pea gravel today, more dirt and clay trails.

of course on one fast section I miss the turnoff and then after some drone footage I am left with only 1 gear with the Rohloff hub connector coming/unscrewing off. I eventually get it going again but not before trying with the multi tool bought at 99 bikes without much luck. The allen keys have been great. I nearly left them behind at one stage too.

I missed the exlsusion zone/redirection that avoid an active forestry logging company as I didnt see any signs stopping me and didnt realise until seeing a sign facing the other way for north bounders to turn left and go up the transmission lines north. I read a bit more on the app how a group ended up following this and headed back to the Lake before realising their mistake.

I continued carefully further along south looking out for any active forestry but none close to the trail and continued on.

I had lunch by the side of the trail near a fallen tree either cut down or blown over.

I arrive at the Yarri hut, a 12 berth smaller hut right on the trail, at 1.30pm so have plenty of time to rest and recover. I started to do some raking of leaves around the hut but a stick went in my eye so that was the end of that.

One water take is a little dirty so I used the other.

I have plenty of time to get the drone up at the hut for a photo of me at the hut.

A couple of magazines to read at the hut, and once again sign the registration book.

I finished off my first gas canister and onto the second so 6 days was pretty good going. I had 3 with me, so 1 down so far. Dwellingup had canisters so didnt have to worry about buying and carying 3.

Some of my rehdration satches are rock solid from the humidity in Darwin so I open it and place the whole lot in especially as some are also sticky and not in powder form. If your unfamilier with what 100% humidity does well it can turn your gatorade powder in lumps even in the screw on container or even can make it form a sticky liquidy solution as it soakes up the humidty in the air.

I have 2 dinners of noodles tonight as feeling hungry. Coming into Collie tomorrow I have 3 lunches and 2 dinners left so good

Bum still sore.  Air dried everything out today.

Not using the clamp holding the go pro as it bumps around on the handlebars and it takes and bit of force to open the clamp, and with my sore right thumb not so easy. I have a sore right thumb from turning the Rohloff hub gears on the handlebars. So everytime I need  to go up or down a gear I have to turn the wrist(like a motorbike accelerator) but twice as hard.

I looked at the helmet go pro footage I've taken so far and decided to give it a mis as its crooked.

Wearing a long sleeve was good today with all the bush that's across the track, so it avoids me getting scratched.

Moved the 2 drone batteries out of the backpack to the front bag as I'm getting a sore shoulder.

Listening to Frankenstein and how different I thought it is to the movies I've watched. Its great as it puts me to sleep but I have to rewind it to restart where I remember the folliwing day.

Sunsets about 6.30pm

Lucky I grought the big jar of bum cream as it gets used regularly.
