Yarri Hut to Collie

Sunday

Out of the track and around the gate I see some tranmisison lines and an early morning hill climb and some hiker bike to start the day. More trees over the track.

At the hut I could hear this humming sound but didn't know wha tit was then came across the conveyor belt from the mine site, probably going 24/7.

I try a short cut but it turns int a long cut as I end up going back half the way befor erealising that the conveyor belt sound should have been getting further away not louder. Back I go about 2km and head right down the transmission lines.

At the intersection to Collie or head south I check that its 16.9km back the following day if I take this route again.

As I've left behind my bike computer with the map of the trail, well some of it, I hav eto stop more often to check the App and maps. After a road crossing for example you turn right to follow the railway then left along the track instead of following the tranmission lines.

Pass Wambenger MTB trail I cross the main road and head along a bike path into town. I go into the info centre but they are too busy and just google the closest caravan park (Collie River CP) to the trail. I arrive at about 11.00am.

After setting up the tent on the allocated site I walk into Collie town with my backpack where I see a couple people drinking alcohol in the park which I find strange - as in Darwin there is not many places you can drink in public places, well until recently anyway. I get to Coles to restock supplies as well as dinner for the night and breakfast the following morning.

Picked up some porridge from coles but shopped at Woolworths.

Mcdonalds at midday then a greek salad from Coles for a late lunch

Went back to the caravan park but lost my riding glasses somewhere there. I rang up a few days later to see if they had found them but alas no.

Chilled out in the kitchen and watched TV and news update.

Tent set up in the corner with plenty of room but had a group of older guys and their partners drinking all afternoon but they were all right. A wedding group I could see getting dressed were departing so expect a late one arrival from them.
