Northcliffe to Yarra Kartta Hut

6.45am departure.

After leaving the carravan park I head down the road and turn off on the Bibbulman track carefully avoiding any person on the trail by going slowly. The trail leads to a rest stop and undercover area and doesnt go into town as I thought. So looking at the app I head down a track that eventually leads onto Old Mill Road. This was a bituman road and a couple of cars on a Sunday morning but soon enough onto gravel road by taking a left vear off after 200m.

I come across what I think is a cyclist ahead only to find out its a bike and clothing in front of some house maybe an artists house or a fan of the trail. Onto some cool roads and trails in the forest then onto a ong dirt road Boorara Road that has farms on the left then fores ton the right.

A car pulls up alongside me just as I finished some photography and mentions there will be more cars following. They all stopped at some Farm that had all these chairs out in the yard so expecting a large crowd. Glad to be past that farm its more dirt road when I come across 3 ladies going north. We chat but there's mosquitoes around so not for long. They got stuck in the rain a few days back at Walpole. They were wearing all the same tops and later I see they finish it on Facebook wearing the same tops.

There's a closed off section north of the hut so its a matter of following Nelson Road then turning left up to the hut. It actually has cars on it. Just near the hut is an uphill trail alongside the service road that I head back to after I've rested for some track clearing with the huts' rake of leaves and sticks.

I arrive at midday at the hut. The campsites are alittle further away for the hut.

This hut has a large rock dome I head to for some drone footage and watch the sunset.

Once again Im the only one in the hut, the 3 ladies stayed here last night though.
