Booner Mundak to Jinung Beigbup Hut
So I headed off just before the 3 other guys and stopped to take some video and realised I had left my back pack behind. So after the shot I rode back mostly downhill though for 2 km only back to the hut.
As I got there one of the guys had the backpack and was going to obviously give it to me while on the road, thanks for that.
Back up the track I went on sandy road (Middle Road) until you get to the big right turn down Boronia Road. The day was overcast and there was a bit of rain but enough to have to keep the rain jacket on and the cold.
It was the most boring of days today being on the roads with no big forest trees but low shrubs most of the way. The excitement was when the 3 guys came up behind and we had to do a hill climb. I hiked , one rode at the same pace and the other 2 motored up it then had to wait for the other. What I realised was how slow or unable to ride the uphills but also that on the downhill sections I can go quite fast. We talked about the weight of the bike being a factor as I had to carry alot more food and a tent which they chose not to. I overtook them when they stopped for a break then they overtook me again and then did not see them again until the hut.
You can see a tall mountain, Mount Lindesay which you ride around, then passing farms and some road works which brings you back to civilisation as for the previous hours not a car went passed. Did I mention the and but also the corrugation so there was not fast gravel riding today.
Once off Mount Lindesay Road its back into forest section that goes around a hill then an uphill section tha tI attempt not to hike. I come across this Robin or WillyWagtail that just welcomes me and follows me in front for 100's of metres, strange. I see the sign for the hut but somehow don't see the arrow or misinterpret the arrow to keep going straight not turn left and keep now going downhill 100m or so when I think where's this hut? More map interpretation and back I go to the hut sign and then realise wha tI did wrong.
Go pro battery was flat and no drone action today. So not much footage today. Rain does not help.
Lunch was 5 corn thins intead of 3 and Brie cheese was lovely change.
A great hut with magnificent trees all around perched on top of the hill. I decide to tent it at a campsite close to the hut and just hang out and have meals at the hut and really don't go to the tent until I went to bed. A good night sleep again back in the tent woken up by the sound of the birds.
